Data security management
At Axis-IT&T addressal of security issues is given utmost
importance.
Physical Security
A team of security guards patrol the ODC premises round the
clock. They ensure that no person with out proper security authorisation
enters the premises or leaves it without making an entry in
the registers kept at the gate.
The security personnel screen all materials coming in and out
of ODC. No material can be brought in or taken out of the ODC
premises without proper authorization and gate pass.
Network Level Security
Network level security is at place at the AXIS – IT&T
ODC to address the following:
Control any unauthorised access to the IT / communication resources
within the ODC workgroup, in the ODC facility, through access
control, authentication and accounting.
Prevent any pilferage of data being transmitted through the
wide area network (WAN) links, by encrypting all data traffic
flowing through the links.
Maintain data integrity over the wide area network (WAN) through
use of appropriate technologies and systems
System Security
Axis – IT&T security policy revolves around the
following:
Access control and accountability
Password management
Software and data security
System audit trails
Hardware security
Transmission security
Firewall
Incident reporting
Protection against viruses
Backup and recovery
Fire Safety
The AXIS - IT&T office is equipped with smoke detectors,
zonal panels, siren and public address systems. Alternately,
break glass panels are located at convenient places.
Measures against Power Failure
The AXIS - IT&T buildings have arrangements for round the
clock uninterrupted power supply through a full power back-up
facility.
Data Security Practices in Axis-IT&T
Confidentiality agreement
All employees of AXIS - IT&T sign a confidentiality
agreement, which binds them to use the data only for the
purpose that it is intended for.
Data through physical media
Floppy drives, tape drives, CD writers and USB sticks
are available only in the server room which remains locked
and has restricted access.
Paper copy
All paper drawings are crushed in the paper shredder
on completion and delivery of the project.
Access to data
All access to data is through a central server and only
to authenticated users
All client systems are on Win2K with password access
Back up of data
Two copies of data back up is created and stored at
two different secure places
Transmitting data from Axis - IT&T to outside
FTP: All data transfer done through FTP.
Access to the FTP site is restricted to selected IP
addresses
All uploading is done through an FTP utility. This does
not require the user to log into the FTP site.
Email
Log report of all email(s) sent and received from the
AXIS - IT&T ODC are scanned on a periodic basis.
Web access
Access to the web is given only to selected IP addresses
Chat/on-line data transfer tools
Access to web and all chat channels is restricted
Fax and Scanner
Access to fax & scanner is restricted.
Theft / robbery
The entire building has security arrangement to restrict
any unauthorized entry
FTP access
All data is secured by a fire wall
Access is restricted to authenticated users only
Hacking
All ports are blocked through a firewall
