Modeling for automobile braking system
Axis - IT&T created a set of casting, machining and assembly
models with drawings for an automobile braking system, using Unigraphics.
The project demanded a thorough understanding of product development
and skills in a very complicated modeling environment converting
the conceptual design to engineering data.

Technologies used:
- Complete parametric models using SKETCH
- WAVE concept
- Assembly models with complete mating conditions specified
- Drawings were created using Interpart expressions
The machining model was created through WAVE concept in
which the casing model was linked to the machining model. Any
modification in the casting model would trigger an automatic update
to the machining model.
The drawings were created through Interpart expressions, in which
the feature parameters of the model were linked to the drawing
notes. An update on a feature parameter of the model would trigger
an automatic update to the linked drawing note.
Complete mating conditions were specified in the assembly model.
Customer's benefits:
- Reduction in modeling time
- Savings in modeling cost
The Axis-IT&T off-shore team worked as an extended modeling
facility for the customer with the customer having online access
to the project developments.
