with Edify's EWF Platform
Voice Extensible Markup Language (VoiceXML) is designed for creating
audio dialogs that feature synthesized speech, digitized audio,
recognition of spoken and DTMF key input, recording of spoken
input, telephony, and mixed-initiative conversations. Its major
goal is to bring the advantages of web-based development and content
delivery to Interactive Voice Response (IVR) applications. In
other words, VoiceXML is a markup language for implementing a
voice user interface.
The Edify platform includes a telephony subsystem and provides
a solid environment for designing and running IVR applications
that required audio playback and recording, speech recognition
and text-to-speech capabilities.
The Role of Axis
With the integration of a VoiceXML 2.0 Browser into the Edify
platform, Axis has helped extend the robust telephony capabilities
of the Edify platform to include support for the latest advances
in IVR application standards..
Axis worked closely with Edify on the specification, design,
development and testing for this integration.
